The K-Food meme coin project ‘Gochujang Coin,’ aimed at promoting traditional Korean food globally, has launched an actual gochujang product on Coupang. Previously recognized as a digital cryptocurrency, Gochujang Coin is now making its mark in the food market, offering consumers a real-world product and taking a fresh step forward.
The newly introduced gochujang product is made from sun-dried peppers, known for its spicy, savory taste and rich depth of flavor. Packaged in a convenient tube, it’s designed for easy use during travel or outdoor activities, making it perfect for camping, picnics, and other settings. Its modern package design is expected to appeal particularly to the MZ generation.
The Gochujang Coin community stated, “The Gochujang Coin project started as a meme coin with the purpose of globalizing traditional Korean food. We wanted to expand its value not only as a digital asset but also through real products. This gochujang product is the first example of embodying Gochujang Coin’s symbolism in a tangible form, and we plan to release more products linked to K-Food in the future.”
Meanwhile, the founder of Gochujang Coin remains anonymous, keeping a high level of security, and has yet to reveal their identity. Communication with the community is conducted solely through Telegram and Twitter. Many anticipate that the founder will make an appearance, even if only under a pseudonym, like Shytoshi Kusama, the creator of Shiba Inu.
After purchasing the physical product, customers can scan the QR code on the gochujang to receive a free coin airdrop. The gochujang product is currently available on Coupang, priced at 17,000 KRW for a package of ten 40g tubes.
